AED Pregnancy Registry

FOR HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS | Antiepileptic Drug Pregnancy Registry

The North American AED (Antiepileptic Drug) Pregnancy Registry is located at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts and is sponsored by AbbVie, Concordia, Janssen, Novartis, Pfizer, Sunovion and UCB. The Registry is the first North American Registry of its kind, encompassing the U.S.A. and Canada and is a philanthropic arm of Harvard Medical School. It began enrolling women in February 1997. Since that time over 10,200 women have enrolled as of May 2016.

For a more detailed description of the creation and history of The Registry, please visit our About The Registry page.

Please tell your patients to call The Registry TOLL FREE at 888.233.2334 to enroll in The North American AED Antiepileptic Drug Pregnancy Registry. We can only enroll a woman if she calls herself. Providers cannot enroll their patients, but they can tell their patients about The Registry and recommend that they call. The Registry truly depends on the enthusiasm of providers to tell their patients about The Registry and to strongly encourage them to participate. Please remind your patients about enrolling in The Registry each time you see them.

Please feel free to download and print our brochure or flyer to distribute to your patients. If you would like us to send you copies of these items, please do not hesitate to contact us.

The women volunteering to enroll in our registry are turning their experience into real answers about the safety of anticonvulsants during pregnancy. Their contributions are resulting in the latest published research in top journals. Below are some of the articles published from our findings.
