March 3rd is World Birth Defects Day and the vision for this year is to raise the awareness of birth defects worldwide. Birth defects impact millions of families worldwide and a sustained focus is needed to support research, prevention, treatment and services. Birth defects are common, costly and critical and are a global concern regardless of race, ethnicity or gender. Many birth defects can be prevented by taking appropriate measures before and during pregnancy. The North American AED Pregnancy Registry is proud to have teamed up with MotherToBaby, a service of the Organization of Teratology Information Specialists (OTIS), the Teratology Society and the National Birth Defects Prevention Network (NBDPN) to bring you an animated video with key tips on birth defects prevention.
